Your love, O Lord, is steady flame,
Unmoved by shifting heart or frame.
Though clouds may veil my sight of You,
Your mercy shines forever true.
My mind recalls what faith has heard,
Your promise sealed within Your Word.
Yet in my heart the shadows rise,
And blur the truth before my eyes.
Still constant stands Your cross of grace,
Approval shining from Your face.
Not earned by striving, won by blood,
A gift secured, a holy flood.
So teach my heart to trust, not roam,
To make Your steadfast love its home.
What mind has known, let soul receive,
And live the joy of those who believe.
